Re: spelling conventions: opinions welcomed!

Re: >e-mail, email ...I actually use "email" in my own life/work. My reasons for putting "e-mail" as my first choice were: (A) because Justin seems to prefer it [if the majority spelling in the program right now is any indication]; and (B) becuase when I went to the Wiktionary, the first thing I saw was this redirect page: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/email The counter-arguments are: (A) who cares how things are now, if there's a better way [see also: "blacklist"] - after all, this ...Continue Reading

I *always* assume you're the prolific one...so my procedure from the start has been to hit that "update" button like a rat on cocaine -- both before I start work on a file, and occasionally also when I'm in the middle of something time-consuming. ...And with all those updates, I've never had a conflict. > I'm getting a lot of conflicts - basically any > file we're both on, because y ...Continue Reading

Hey Shane, Can you make sure you do a, "Update" before you edit and commit changes in the CVS? I'm getting a lot of conflicts - basically any file we're both on, because you're using an older version of the file, Cheers, Justin Simoni ...Continue Reading

I do like the larger buttons - if you look between the style changes between 2.9 and anything below, everything did get a bit larger and I do like the breathing room between the text inside the buttons and the borders of the buttons themselves. > Yup, that sounds like enough of a challenge. :-) I'll see what I > can do.... spelling conventions: opinions welcomed!

July 31st 2005 PST

I'll be proofreading all of the template files in my second go-round through the /templates/ folder...and I'd appreciate your opinions, if any, on a few debatable spelling conventions. (My goal here is to make everything consistent across the board, for users & admins alike.)   Following is a list of alternate spellings. The italicized ones are "correct" according to Wikipedia &/or Wiktionary. Unless there's disagreement or discussion to be had, I'll be using the first (bolded) one in ea ...Continue Reading

little CSS tweaks, as req. by Justin & Alfred

July 31st 2005 PST

> > are you *sure* you don't want me to> > add [redundant input-type classes]> > in?> Yes :)...And it's a good thing you said that, too: I've since realized there are easier & far less bloated ways of dealing with the IE radio button/checkbox border problem, Alfred's vert-align bug, ...and hopefully anything else we come across. First up: I clued into the fact that the checkbox-border thing can be written out with only one IE expression hack:   /* for IE 5.0+: */input {  &nb ...Continue Reading
