SendGrid and Amazon SES API heads up

March 17th 2021 UTC

I'm fielding a few support requests concerning both Amazon SES and Sendgrid. Both have slightly changed the way you can connect to them. Sendgrid now only allows using an API key as the password for their SMTP gateway: And as I mentioned earlier this year, Amazon SES is turning off the older version of their authentication scheme, so make sure to update to the latest version of Dada Mail if you use Amazon SES. That's ...Continue Reading

Friendly Reminder: Upgrade!

September 14th 2020 UTC

Hey everyone - this vulnerability has NOTHING to do with Dada Mail, but shows what can happen when something that allows you to view/upload files is found to have a vulnerability: The latest versions of Dada Mail allow you to simple NOT have a file manager active, while also making sure any former copies of a file manager that was being used are inoperable. This is to keep things secure as much as we can. If you DO ...Continue Reading

Re: Configuring for reCAPTCHA also upgrading if Dada Mail manually installed

September 10th 2020 UTC

Just to add an epilogue: - I was able to use the Web-based installer to upgrade to 11_11_2. - I took the opportunity to add the Bounce Handler (which has sorted out a recent minor issue) and the Global config plugin. - As a side benefit, I also now have a utility for backing up and restoring the database. - I had the opportunity to configure for reCAPTCHA v2 but the installation test failed with "cannot locate in @INC". I have to build my CPAN routines locally and upload them (shared host does not have ...Continue Reading

Embedded Images + RSS Feed to message enhancements

September 10th 2020 UTC

I'm *also* working on a few other features around the app. One deals with images in HTML messages. Right now, there's an option to embed them in the message itself (this is the default). This is all well and good, but sometimes people upload absolutely **gigantic** images to put in their email messages, then send those out to a few thousand people. So, there's now an option to resize images that are over a limit. That limit is based on the width of the image, and can also be specified for a few different widths ava ...Continue Reading

Recurring Schedules Enhancements

September 10th 2020 UTC

I'm working on adding some more features to the recurring schedules. You'll now be able to set which week of the month you'd like to send a message out. See my screenshots I've attached - for example I can now say, "hey, send this message out on the first Sunday of the month". As it gets a little confusing on just what the options will do when it comes to setting schedules, I've also made a little calendar that will allow you to see when the scheduled mass mailing will be sending on. -- Jus ...Continue Reading
