Re: list control panel navigation change in v9 - top bar?

November 2nd 2015 PST

Here's a somewhat rudimentary example of how the interface responds to working in a mobile environment as well as different screen sizes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyNDeMNmRUg The idea is to make it work well on Desktop, Tablet and Mobile. I'm not sure if sending a fancy and highly formatted message is going to be really realistic to do on mobile, but you certainly can send something off on the Desktop, and then check the status of your mass mailing on your phone. The Tracker plugin actually is working really ...Continue Reading

I usually find that the top bar is less touchscreen friendly than the side navigation (since the side navigation is usually expanded and in the top navigation, tapping a menu header usually takes you somewhere. With a proper responsive design that understands the menu, this shouldn't be a problem, but it is something to consider.- YOn Sun, Nov 1, 2015 at 6:23 PM, Justin J justin@PROTECTED [Dada Mail Developers] <dadadev@PROTECTED> wrote:Hello everyone, I'm playing around with changing up the navigation in th ...Continue Reading

list control panel navigation change in v9 - top bar?

November 1st 2015 PST

Hello everyone, I'm playing around with changing up the navigation in the list control panel for v9. Right now (and it seems since time began), Dada Mail has relied on a left-side navigation menu. Attached is a screenshot showing a top bar navigation menu Whatcha think? I think I like it! -- Justin J: Lead Dadaist. url:         http://dadamailproject.comemail:    justin@PROTECTEDtwitter:  @dadamailskype:   leaddadaistDada Mail Announcements: http://dadama ...Continue Reading

One-Click Unsubscribe Revisted

October 28th 2015 PST

Hello Everyone, I worked today on reimplementing a one-click unsubscribe scheme that's safe from apps that scan and follow all the links found in an email message. This is a big problem users were facing with mail readers/mail workflow that was hooked up to say, a virus detection component. The component would follow the one-click unsubscribe link, and - unsubscribe the address! Current (v8) versions work like this: once the subscriber clicks the unsubscribe link, they will just need to fill in their email address ...Continue Reading

Introducing Dada Mail 9, Alpha 1

October 27th 2015 PST

Hello everyone! At long last, I'm finally at a good stopping point with development, and would like to introduce you to Dada Mail, v9! This version features an entirely new front end design, using the front end framework, Foundation: http://foundation.zurb.com/ The release focuses almost entirely on the front end, but this is a major release - git stats for the current development branch: Showing 324 changed files with 20,560 additions and 4,561 deletions. Which is quite a bit. I invite you to try out the n ...Continue Reading

Update on Zurb Foundation Work

September 30th 2015 PST

Hello everyone, I've been super busy working on updating Dada Mail to utilize the Zurb Foundation UI Framework (http://foundation.zurb.com/) My first goal is to update the sometimes creaky and old HTML that makes up Dada Mail's UI to Zurb Foundation, without customizing it in too many ways, but still make it usable. Here's a screenshot of the Send a Message screen, with the HTML rewritten to use Foundation: http://dadamailproject.com/images/v9/send_a_message.jpg The second goal is to then design a new design for ...Continue Reading
