I understand (and appreciate the need to stop the abuse) but that doesn’t apply to my requests. All of them are actual subscribers. I would love it if gmail would use the link instead of the reply to address, but I don’t think I’m going to bend gmail to my will. ;)At the moment I’m going with a reply using text expander which says:Thank you for your reply. If you wish to unsubscribe, please use the unsusbscription link at the bottom of every mailing (replying does not unsubscribe addresses). If you have any trouble wit ...Continue Reading

Update on this: I've successfully harnessed the Foundation for Emails workflow to work with Dada Mail. At the moment, I can send a confirmation message in an HTML message that looks and acts pretty well in most email clients, including being *responsive*, which is awesome (think mobile phone users). Making this work on all the other transactional emails just means writing out the email and making some simple changes in Dada Mail's source. The next big hurtle will be getting actual mass mailings to use th ...Continue Reading

Here's what I mea by abuse. I've gotten some of these messages from Gmail, but when I look up the address, I see that they are not subscribed. So, what gives? Digging a little deeper, it seems the address did fill out the subscription form, but then never confirmed it. So, why are they trying to unsubscribe from a list they're not subscribed on, yet? Looking for the address on stopforumspam.com, it comes out as negative - no one is reporting it as being abusive. But, if I look the history of subscription requests, ...Continue Reading

As far as I can understand - I actually don't see the unsubscribe link provided by Gmail, the unsubscribe link uses the information that's sent in the, List-Unsubscribe header. In Dada Mail, this header holds both the email address of the List Owner, and the unsubscribe link, to give a choice to the s ...Continue Reading

These are actual subscribers, and they each have “unsubscribe email” as the subject line and the message in the body of the email is identical for each:"Please unsubscribe this account from your mailing list.”The thing that worries me is that if they keep receiving mail after they “unsubscribe” using gmail’s function, they will think it’s unsolicited email.
