Request For Comments - archive, but do not send/backdate widget

August 29th 2005 PST

One thing that I neglected to work on that's part of the, "to-do" for 2.10 was a way - some way to edit archived messages. At the moment, I don't have a full blown MIME editor that would work in all - or most - or even some circumstances, but I thought the next best thing would be a way to add new messages without sending the message out and also a way to back date the message - so you could at least add new messages to the archive, and sort of edit old messages by deleting them and re-adding them ...Continue Reading

Strange, can you see if there are any javascript errors? I'm not sure how to do that in IE, but Mozilla/Firefox has a JS debugger - just type in: javascript: to bring it up; To let you know, I've been working on making the deletion stuff a little ...Continue Reading

Just off the top of my head, *adding them in* with CSS2 selectors: #Logo:before { content: ".: "; } #Title:before ...Continue Reading

FYI: Hotmail-friendly message styling using CSS

August 29th 2005 PST

A heads-up for anyone who sends HTML emails with CSS styling:   Justin has (elsewhere) recommended a March 2004 article at A List Apart, titled "CSS and Email, Kissing in a Tree," as an excellent primer on how to construct CSS-styled emails so they come out the way they're supposed to at the receiving end. And it's still available at:   http://www.alistapart.com/articles/cssemail/   However, the discussion that followed the article on the ALA site has recently been deleted with their late ...Continue Reading

No matter how many or few dev releases you put out, people are going to miss all, some, or most of them - for a variety of reasons: mostly because of time and convenience. Time, because unless you're me :) You have more important work-related things to do. Convenience, because it is sort of annoying to have to download and then reinstall the program manuall ...Continue Reading

Re: CSS-friendly templates in Dada Mail 2.10, part 2: things fixed along the way

August 29th 2005 PST

Okay, I just fixed and uploaded "Bug #4" (the default_list_template's IE width problem), using a couple of Tan hacks. They're well commented (with a tinyURL link) for people coming across them for the first time, ...and actually, they don't look all that bad in there, considering. :-) While fixing that "last" bug, I also -- in the same spirit of keeping default_list_template as clean and hack-free as possible -- moved the: hack that I'd used to clear the header's floats into default_css instead, w ...Continue Reading

> Using /nested/ div's > seems to be a throwback to nested tables Thank you, sincerely, for your "philiosophical" preamble on this, Justin. Something was really bothering me about "Option #1", ...and the above comment of yours, plus: > There's going to be another group of people who are going to change > the layout/design of their lists using the list template function , have helped clarify what that nagging little voice was worried about.
