If I put RSS 2.0 support in Dada Mail, does anyone see a need to keep the .91 implementation in? Also, are there any RSS 2.0-centric features you think would be required/useful in Dada Mail? ...Continue Reading

It's either that, or if a block only contains one line, a semicolon is unnecessary. Or both. This line of code is directly out of the AnyDBM_File documentation http://search.cpan.org/~nwclark/perl-5.8.7/lib/AnyDBM_File.pm ...Continue Reading

Justin, I was just going over the Config.pm file in the latest version of DADA. You have this line in the file. BEGIN { @AnyDBM_File::ISA = qw(DB_File GDBM_File NDBM_File ODBM_File SDBM_File) } Shouldn't that line read lite this? BEGIN { @AnyDBM_File::ISA = qw(DB_File GDBM_File NDBM_File ODBM_File SDBM_File); } You will notice the semi-colon at the end of the second line. I was using perltidy to clean up the files to make them easier to read. So of your line lengths are hugh. The suggested length is 80 character ...Continue Reading

It's actually been the same since about 2.3 (if not 2.0 - we're talking years now) - it hasn't changed in any really discernible way - there's more files, for example the backup files, but you shouldn't need to upgrade by completely recreating the lists - that's over doing it. ...Continue Reading

>I did upgrade the program without deleting every .dada_file, files. To me it looks like that this is actually the source of your trouble. It is reccomended (at least I personaly recommend it) to do all dada upgrades always as a complete re-install (which is a bit time consuming but actually quite easy). You make a copy plus download the content of your dada_files to your local computer, then built new lists, subscribe yourusers in a new batch, updated the individual settings plus the design changes from your ...Continue Reading

Hello Manfred, Yes I did get unsubscribed messages from the admin program for one person which name is Marie-Claude. This person was mailed again and appeared in the finishing message as the last person which was mailed. For the rest of the persons I usubscribed them manually using the administrative program. In my humble opinion there is another solution. I did upgrade the program without deleting every .dada_file, files. Perhaps the upgrade is very different and it was absolutely necessary to delete some of the . ...Continue Reading

Did you check for 'social' problems? - Probably some of your users did not thouroughly understand the unsubscription procedure. I am thinking of the unsub confirmation that some of your users did probably not execute in a correct way. There are *many* unskilled persons outside that do not care for computer functions.
