I'm tinkering with making mailouts support a sort of, "auto pickup" feature. Here's the problem: Mailouts to a list sometimes get stopped - there's many reasons: Server Killed the process Some random error in the program Dada Mail can't auto pickup a failed mailing, because it has no metadata about the mailing - not even a copy of the message is saved internally, which is sort of dumb. Currently, you can only send a new message at a specific point in your mailing list, which is less than optimal ...Continue Reading

Well, is there something else we'd should do about obfuscating email addresses in the archived messages (all over, really)? The only other thing I can think of is using some sort of JavaScript obfuscator, or, change the text of the email address to include an image for, say, the, "@" sign, like so: dadaskazat.com The, "dada ...Continue Reading

Michael: 4. If I use the archiving of my discussion list the e-mail addresses are displayed doing a Google search with the keywords of the name of the person. Add a robots.txt file to the root of your site and in this textfile type: User-agent: * Disallow: /cgi-bin/ Now your problem is gone, there are a multiple of things you can set in the robots.txt file to have control over how searchengines scan your site. Dear Simoni, I want to apologize. Please don't be angry at me. My only aim is to get a stable version WITHOUT the multiple fields feature for a DISCUSSION LIST. I didn't know that there was a special URL for the bugs so I apologize again. Obviously I don't regret at all to have contributed to the multiple fields feature this is a misunderstanding and I would be very glad if you could speak english correctly. Please don't be angry at me... -- Michael Havlicek Le 4 janv. 06, 02:00, Dada Mail ((Justin Simoni)) a c ...Continue Reading

Good news, I think I've gotten a workaround for servers that don't give back the correct PATH_INFO environment variable. The PATH_INFO environment variable is used in Dada Mail to use URL's that look like this: http://mojo.skazat.com/cgi-bin/dada/mail.cgi/list/dadadev/ Instead of: http://mojo.skazat.com/cgi-bin/dada/mail.cgi? flavor=list&list=dadadev Using the PATH_INFO method makes the URL appear much cleaner and search engine friendly. The problem is, some hosting companies, like GoDaddy execute cgi ...Continue Reading

If you have any bugs, please fill them out at: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=13002&atid=113002 Are there bugs in Dada Mail? Yes. Many. There are bugs in most any software applications. Hello, I contributed to the multiple fields feature but now I think that I won't need it. I am not interested in a future developpement of features of multiple fields and Atom and RSS feeds. I am very interested in DISCUSSION LIST bug free software as I paid a pro version. I purchased the dada pro version and I use the 2.10.3 version and this version is not bug free. So what are the bugs? 1.The description of my discussion list have an accented caracter in the french word littrature . This word is display ...Continue Reading

Wow - OK, that was easy enough. I'm not going to keep HTMLArea around to be deprecated - FCKEditor seems to do the job much better. I've: Replaced HTMLArea with FCKEditor in the, "Send a List Message -> Advanced" screen as well as added it to: * Send a Webpage * Send a List Invitation * The Archive Editor I may add it to Beatitude as well, unless there's a good reason not to. So now there's WYSIWYG editing all over the place. Nothin' to it :) I may release a version of Dada Mail with FCKEdi ...Continue Reading

I'm probably going to be putting FCKEditor support in Dada Mail, and removing HTMLArea - * Anyone see any reason to keep HTMLArea around in a deprecated state for a release? * Anyone use FCKEditor and want/need a certain feature in it? I see it's quite flexible in some parts. Cheers, ...Continue Reading

Good news, The fundraiser for the multiple subscriber fields project was a success! The targeted amount of $2,000 was received in the 45 day timeframe! Awesome work everyone! I really appreciate this and I'm looking forward to developing this community-driven feature! As stated on the description for the fundraiser, I'm hoping to get a beta out within 6 weeks - which makes the deadline basically fall on Valentines Day. So there's some sweetness to look forward to already. Here's my current rough draft of h ...Continue Reading
