The site has a developer section with API that should get you started. Of course you got most of the code in place, it would be mostly getting the admin to integrate with the Joomla environment. Maybe optionally adding captcha (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captcha http://www.captcha.net/) to the subscription process would help?
