A big issue with moderation and a lot of the dada_bridge.pl authentication stuff (is the person who's mailing to the list allowed to, and if so - in what circumstances?) is that it gets quite complicat ...Continue Reading

I know there was some discussion a while back, but I lost track, and forgot that it changed. What is the current status of moderation? Did an option ever get added to put it back they way it was? i.e. to allow a group of emails to post to a list? If not, is there a "best way" to achieve this? Or am I pretty much stuck with sending them the web page to send a list message from? Thanks,-Joe Post: mailto:dadadev@PROTECTED Unsubscribe: http://mojo.skazat.com/cgi-bin/dada/mail.cgi/u/[list]/ List Information: ...Continue Reading

Good news CAPTCHA fans - I was able to implement the reCAPTCHA: http://recaptcha.net/ web service into Dada Mail, so now you have two choices for your CAPTCHA needs. Some nice things about this new system: You don't need the GD Library installed on your server - if the, "Send a Webpage" screen works in Dada Mail, so will this. This service also has an audio option, so that'll help sight- challenged people. Attached are two screenshots, showing the default CAPTCHA system and reCAPTCHA. You can ch ...Continue Reading

I don't mind this idea - I think it's a great one. If not, "removed" from the bounce scorecard, at least deducted some points from. The problem is, when you ...Continue Reading

Know what ? Your comment made me think of John Maynard Keynes (1883â 1946), British economist : "Long run is a misleading guide to current affairs. In the long run we are all dead." Your assumption is that all bounces are equal. When actually they are not. A "Domain ...Continue Reading

I've searched your site, but didn't find a way to convert the list of email addresses to a MySQL DB. Maybe it is an option, but I just missed it. (I think I've seen mention of MySQL here and there in these emails.) Seems like a good idea. Then addresses could be added to the list when a PHP entry form or a shopping cart purchase is made. ...Continue Reading

If I understand this correctly, I left an item on the Sourceforge wish list that would do this if implemented. It goes something like: an item that is on the bounce list is removed from the list if subsequent email blasts are successfully delivered (not bounced). Reasoning: All addresses, yea even mine and yours, bounce once in while. It could be the position of the planets or maybe there's an internet equivalent of biorhythm where it just gets testy once in while. Under the current bounce handling system the ...Continue Reading
