Ditto that. As long as nothing breaks, more features are always nice. :-) ______________________________________________ Bruce Scherzinger * bruce@PROTECTED Craig W. OK, since no one responded, I guess it's not a hot issue :) I've started the changeover from Net::POP3 to Mail::POP3Client - I've started with the Bounce Handler, which, amongst other things, means you can use it with GMail (Gmail for domains, most likely) It'll also give you finer control on what kind of authentication scheme you want - either Cleartext, MD5 hash or SSL encrypted over port 995(?) - and an auto setting, if you don't know/care. It should also get rid of that hiccup, where Dada Mail tries to ...Continue Reading

Hey everyone, I'm contemplating changing the current POP3 engine in Dada Mail from Net::POP3: http://search.cpan.org/~gbarr/libnet/Net/POP3.pm to Mail::POP3Client: http://search.cpan.org/~sdowd/Mail-POP3Client/POP3Client.pm Both engines do basically the same thing, the Mail::POP3Client engine supports, among other things, SSL connections to the POP3 server - something that, say, Gmail requires. There's nothing in Net::POP3 that Mail::POP3Client doesn't support (that I can see) The switch shouldn't take ...Continue Reading

When I was playing with the CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA stuff, I also stumbled upon Mailhide:http://mailhide.recaptcha.netwhich protects email address on web pages, by only allowing you to see them, once you've answered a CAPTCHA - the same type that reCAPTCHA has. That seemed appealing, since Dada Mail *does* show email addresses in its archives. At the moment, they are encoded using the simple Spam-me-not method, outlined here:http://www.zapyon.de/spam-me-not/Which seems to work OK, but I thought there could be a different wa ...Continue Reading

I didn't know about the first annual one, but the second annual one is apparently coming soon: If you'd like to nominate Dada Mail, do so, here! http://sourceforge.net/awards/cca/nomination.php?group_id=13002 I don't think I get anything - not even a pony, but it would be fun to win! I'm a little confused why there isn't a, "Best Project for an end User" category, but, the choices listed and the choices listed, ...Continue Reading

Is there a way to have dada mail deliver a newsletter based on an event? On my site (bargainjack.com), I have a newsletter that I deliver to my customers daily, and its content is populated by a special webpage on my server (in other words, I don't type the newsletter in by hand, but instead, I put in a URL for my content when filling out the Dada newsletter form). This special URL usually updates at midnight, but sometimes might update the following morning--thus I can't use the timed delivery option for m ...Continue Reading

Most likely, it's a bug I've introduced - For session stuff, Dada Mail uses the CGI::Session CPAN package: http://search.cpan.org/~markstos/CGI-Session/lib/CGI/Session.pm It's a very good package, with a good testing ...Continue Reading
