Heya, so, because of popular demand, I've re-added the old moderation system - the moderation system that really wasn't a moderation system at all and which was replaced by something that actually was a moderation system - and to stop any confusion with this new/old system, it has been re- christened, "Authorized Senders" - which is basically what it was to start off with. And, if you're lost, basically the feature is this: It's a separate list of addresses that are allowed to post a message to ...Continue Reading

Ditto that. As long as nothing breaks, more features are always nice. :-) ______________________________________________ Bruce Scherzinger * bruce@PROTECTED Craig W. OK, since no one responded, I guess it's not a hot issue :) I've started the changeover from Net::POP3 to Mail::POP3Client - I've started with the Bounce Handler, which, amongst other things, means you can use it with GMail (Gmail for domains, most likely) It'll also give you finer control on what kind of authentication scheme you want - either Cleartext, MD5 hash or SSL encrypted over port 995(?) - and an auto setting, if you don't know/care. It should also get rid of that hiccup, where Dada Mail tries to ...Continue Reading

Hey everyone, I'm contemplating changing the current POP3 engine in Dada Mail from Net::POP3: http://search.cpan.org/~gbarr/libnet/Net/POP3.pm to Mail::POP3Client: http://search.cpan.org/~sdowd/Mail-POP3Client/POP3Client.pm Both engines do basically the same thing, the Mail::POP3Client engine supports, among other things, SSL connections to the POP3 server - something that, say, Gmail requires. There's nothing in Net::POP3 that Mail::POP3Client doesn't support (that I can see) The switch shouldn't take ...Continue Reading

When I was playing with the CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA stuff, I also stumbled upon Mailhide:http://mailhide.recaptcha.netwhich protects email address on web pages, by only allowing you to see them, once you've answered a CAPTCHA - the same type that reCAPTCHA has. That seemed appealing, since Dada Mail *does* show email addresses in its archives. At the moment, they are encoded using the simple Spam-me-not method, outlined here:http://www.zapyon.de/spam-me-not/Which seems to work OK, but I thought there could be a different wa ...Continue Reading
