Hi Justin, I know you're leaving this weekend, don't worry about this, but I just discovered a small bug and send this only to document it. Anyway, in 2.10.14 (stable) when the subscriber_help page is generated, the internal links (for the different mail addresses) instead of pointing to the same page, they point to the mail.cgi, so they don't work. That is, in http://dadalists.example.org/mail.cgi/subscriber_help/mylist/ the link that says "Gmail users", points to http://dadalists.example.org/mail.cgi#gmai ...Continue Reading

Phil, I had the same issue with the absolute paths with my webhosting company (IX Webhosting). They don't impose any limits on outbound email at all once you tell them what you are doing, and only moderate limits until then. My biggest list has over 170 subscribers (it's for a home owners association). Their service includes ezmlm, but they've got just about all the features disabled, leaving only the basic stuff, so Dada Mail has been a godsend. I run my dada_bridge cron job every 10 minutes, no problem. I hig ...Continue Reading

I'm trying out www.servage.net as a webhost, and found that their mailing list feature doesn't support discussion lists, so I'm trying Dada Mail. It seems to do what I want (it's unusual to find an open-source app that's so bug-free and well documented, fantastic!) but there are a few unusual features with this host: 1. Servage use 'clustered' hosting and there's no SSH access, which can make debugging a little difficult. I've seen occasional 500 errors using Dada Mail, but pages always refresh successfully. I haven't ...Continue Reading

My host would have let me run the bridge once every four hours - apparently, the issue is that running it too frequently creates an increasing load. This is why I asked Justin a few months ago about (but never ended up following up on) commissioning a way to use dada_bridge the same way as the old dada_send with a mail alias. I now have my own way to do this so I do not need it anymore but if you want to pay Justin to develop this feature for you, it will help you a lot. I use it, and have never seen this issue, or had a complaint from my host. I have a related issue with PHP that I'm at a loss to track down, but have never found Dada to crash my server due to too many sessions. -JoeOn 6/21/07, Alfred Vink* <alfred@PROTECTED> wrote: Justin,$MessagesAtOnce was set to 1 and the CRON run every 5 minutes.....It seems to hang or loop every now and then I'm afraid.I reported before I already was bounced once by my host because dadamail opened too many SQL connections at the same time.N ...Continue Reading
