I've been working on the actual subscription forms in Dada Mail. One of the main problems is that now that there's the possibility of multiple subscriber fields, each and every subscription form being displayed has to have a way to input these news values. Since the subscription forms are everywhere - from the default screen, to the list pages, the archive pages, rss/atom feeds, error pages - as well as the cut/paste HTML code - it's a little difficult. So, it should be all straightened out - Some of the m ...Continue Reading

I've been doing a bit of cleanup with the code and writing test after test - I'm happy to let everyone know that for the tests I've since written, all the back ends (PlainText, MySQL, Postgress, SQLite) are passing ALL the tests. This is a good thing, since there's about 800+ tests just for the new multiple fields stuff. There's more, much much more testing to be done, but I still hope to get a dev release out very very very soon, I've attached some screenshots... Cheers, ...Continue Reading

I've started with the testing suite for the features currently implemented. Currently, there's about 300+ tests, just dealing with the new functionality and about 800+ (or whatever the number is) of tests that already exist. Every time I make a distro of Dada Mail, the tests are run and I can see if anything broke. This is a big boon for me. The multiple fields feature is so embarrassingly late, people always ask, "why has it taken so long"? There's a whole bunch of reasons, the main main reas ...Continue Reading

Hey Justin, It's great to hear that you're making progress on support for multiple fields. Could you please take a look at a bug[1] I reported awhile back then submitted a fix for last month? I'm wondering if I could get my patch applied to the next release so that I don't have to keep patching your updates. Thanks, William [1] http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1660046&group_id=13002&atid=113002 ...Continue Reading

Just to keep everyone in the loop - I got partial list sending blocked out. This is the feature that'll allow you to send a message to only part of your list, depending on some parameters - for example, if you want to send to only people that state the live in, "Denver" with a zipcode that starts with, "802" - you can. Pretty slick. What's even more slick is I have a live preview hooked up, so you can fill out the parameters and a table with your subscribers will be filled out and mod ...Continue Reading

Some more multiple fields stuff: I got Fallback values all set. These are the values that'll be used if there's no value set for a subscriber. That's wordy. In other words, say you have a subscriber: me@PROTECTED There's two extra fields, first name and last name - which this subscriber doesn't have any information about. This'll allow to say, "Well, if there's no info, use, "Sir" for the first name and, um, nothing for the last name. Easy enough. Every thing's still a bit rough, but this i ...Continue Reading
