Re: HTML Email Fonts

Carl, Dada can't tell what font style you choose in the editor. The editor is a completely different program, the only interaction being that of passing the generated html text to Dada. You'll have to design around this problem. Perhaps come up with a neutral layout for the appended unsub message, explain it as a feature, ie the different style differentiates the functional aspect of that area of the message. Maybe that would keep your managers happy! I'd like to point out that I've used very expensive commercial ma ...Continue Reading

Re: HTML Email Fonts

Hi Henry, I understand HTML, but putting a style=Arial in the email template only forces the template text to be different than what is created in the email body text. I am trying to make the text in both places the same. When you create the message text you can set any font you want when the FCKEditor addin is installed, but when the template appends the unsubscribe, etc text, I would prefer it keep the same font as was used in the body. It looks bad to have the fonts change and its also bad to force manager ...Continue Reading

Carl, How an html email appears has as much to do with what you read it with, as how it is sent. The only way to be sure that your text remains in the same font is to make sure that all your styles are inline within the html code, eg: paragraph of text to appear in Arial font There are all sorts of methods of getting a required layout, but the only way to be sure is to test, test, and test again. The following link is a very good guide: http://www.anandgraves.com/html-email-guide I hope this helps, however you wil ...Continue Reading

***SPAM*** HTML Email Fonts

August 14th 2008 PST

When I send HTML email, the font can be changed in the body text, but the template text seems to always be New Times Roman so the email ends up with different fonts. Is there a way to have the template text match the body text? Carl ...Continue Reading

(ok, found more time to answer this correctly) Here's what to find in the mail.cgi file sub subscribe_flash_xml { if($q->param('test') == 1){ print $q->header('text/plain'); }else{ print $q->header('application/x-www-form-urlencoded'); } if(check_if_list_exists(-List => $list, -dbi_handle => $dbi_handle) == 0){ #note! This should be handled in the subscription_check_xml() method, # but this object *also* checks to see if a list is real. Chick/Egg print '' . $e ...Continue Reading

flash/XML subscription, server response headers

August 14th 2008 PST

Hi there, I'm concerned that the server response headers are wrong when using the Flash/XML subscribe function (which I would like to implement via javascript, not flash): http://dadamailproject.com/support/documentation-dada-2_10_16/email_subscription_form.pod.html According to the docs, you should get an XML response when you supply a url such as this: http://yoursite.com/cgi-bin/dada/mail.cgi?f=subscribe_flash_xml&l=listshortname&e=someone@address.com However, with my own tests (all be it in my browser), I am p ...Continue Reading
