Old lists to SQL backend

October 14th 2008 PST

I just upgraded to 3.0 and would like to convert to the MySql back end. I have about 19000 users in my list that needed to be inserted. Is there a way to do this or -- hmmm, maybe I'm about to answer my own question. Export the list to a text file, activate the new backend and then import again. Confirm please? They will be without names, etc. but I don't care about that anyway. ...Continue Reading

Changing sort order in Clickthru tracking

October 14th 2008 PST

Just upgraded to 3.0 Pro and when I tried the hack to reverse the sort order so the top listings were most current, it no longer worked.  This used to work: foreach(sort { $a <=> $b  } keys %$m_report){ CHANGED TO: foreach(sort { $b <=> $a  } keys %$m_report){ Now it does nothing. Does anyone know how to do this on 3.0? Thanks, BTW-  Is there another hack that eliminates the clutter of counting the test mails? -- ============================= John Collins Meet ...Continue Reading

MIME encoded headers - progress

October 13th 2008 PST

I've got good news - I've made progress on getting MIME encoded headers working in Dada Mail. I don't have decoding working yet - so you won't be able to send something from Dada Bridge and have it send out correctly, but I'm making progress. When I have something to show, I'll make another snapshot and have people play around with it. By the way, how's that last snapshot? :) ...Continue Reading

Return Path not returning to the bounces address

October 13th 2008 PST

Mystery Girl, the Bounce Handler was high on my list of favorite things about Dadamail. But something has gone weirdly wrong.  When I send out to my sizeable list (about 19,000), the bounces are coming back to my Reply-To address (same as the From address) and not the Return-Path address. I have set the Return-Path field to a different address: bounces@PROTECTED, but the bounces are not going to this address.  I have tested the bounces@ address by sending and retrieving emails and it's working f ...Continue Reading

The, "Warning! Mailout seems broken!" problem, etc

October 6th 2008 PST

Sometimes, more often than I would have liked, during a mass mailing people are reporting an error that begins like this, "Warning! Mailout seems broken!" What that means is that something got corrupted in the files that make up a mass mailing. How that happens - I don't know. My guess is that it's a race condition: two processes are trying to write to the same file and the file just gets obliterated. There's safeguards against this: in the code, the directory of files that makes up a mass maili ...Continue Reading
