Hi Justin Our servers appear to throw a security violation with the latest Dada when using the Clickthrough tracker as they consider the PATH environment to be unsafe (?) - error message below Changing clickthrough_tracking.cgi to just /usr/bin/perl _without_ the -T makes it run quite happily. Software error: Insecure $ENV{PATH} while running with -T switch at /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/Cwd.pm line 92, line 1. Compilation failed in require at ..//DADA/Template/HTML.pm line 430, line 1. Sometimes I like to add features, when I get annoyed enough to get the job done to get them put in, but before I actually know what I need to do to make it all happen. I drew up (yes, with paper and pencil) an idea to get the mass mailings to stick more closely to what everyone probably perceives how the batch settings work: If I say I want 1 message to go out every 8 seconds, what I mean is that I want 450 messages to go out in an hour. In reality, this isn't how it works. Dada Mail will send that one m ...Continue Reading

Justin, thanks - I tested your code and it does, indeed, preserve the subscriber fields. I know there is no verification that the person changing the email address is authorized. Could the admin of the list be sent an email when email changes are made, just like the notification when a new subscriber joins? Where is the "Allow list subscribers to update their own information", feature? I couldn't find it. Carl K ----- Original Message ----- From: "Justin J" To: "Dada Mail Developer ...Continue Reading

Hi everyone I was just upgrading our Dada2.x installation to use the new Dada3.x base, and was adding in our 'Kill Dada' plugin/feature which I thought might be interesting to share with everyone. Basically we installed a 'Kill' Dada facility so that if we are ever doing a big email out, and the clients website goes down, or we release the subject is wrong, etc. etc., our team can click the 'Kill Dada' button and all active sending processes of Dada are killed instantly. It uses a little PHP script, and an extra but ...Continue Reading

One very nice DadaMail feature is the ability to change your email address in all subscriptions at once using the /dada/extensions/update_subscription.cgi. However when you do, all the other added subscription fields are blanked out. I don't recall if it was doing that before this latest update. If you are still taking wish-list requests, would it be possible to preserve these fields and just change the email address? Carl K ...Continue Reading

Hi Justin (and Dada devs) I was just updating our new 3.0 install and noticed that I have different mail header priorities configured for our Dada client than Dada uses for default, and wanted to see if anyone knows the definitive(ish) answer as to which should be used? According to RFC 1327 (some official doc type thing on what mail headings should be etc.) the priority headings in an email should take the following values: priority = "normal" / "non-urgent" / "urgent" and RFC ...Continue Reading

Oh good - I was going to report that the changes I had made seem to make a positive effect, but I couldn't recreate the exact problem you had, "The, "Resource Temporarily Unavailable" problem.
