Hi Justin Basically we modified the array of sending times to include these extra sub-1 second times - so I think (of the top of my head) it is normally something like (1..160, 170, 180) etc. and we modified this to be (0.001, 0.01, 0.1, 1..160, 170, 180) so yes maybe we do get what we want, but not quite the way we intended it! Any thoughts on the batch vs. how many discussion? :-) Alex Justin J wrote: > > On Sep 10, 2009, at 6:32 AM, Alex Judd wrote: >> - and then wait 0.01 seconds, before the n ...Continue Reading

Just with the actual list setting? If so, this may not work exactly how you want - the problem won't sleep for .01 seconds, it may just sleep for no seconds, which will probably do much of what you want. The problem is that the, "sleep()" function that Dada Mail uses rounds to the nearest second (I think) ...Continue Reading

Hi John Email is fairly light as we host all the images externally rather than including them in the email, so just HTML and PLAIN TEXT versions within the send. Justin (and anyone else!) - any thoughts on optimum send rates of Batch vs. non-Batch and how many to send per batch? We were doing 1 per batch, and then a 0.001 wait (basically as fast as the server can go), but is there any downsize in sending more than 1 email per batch? Was thinking that maybe more messages per batch might increase SPAM r ...Continue Reading

Wow, that's really great.  Curious, how large in kb is the email you sent when you got that rate?On a shared hosting server here and am fine with the speed I'm getting.  My list is 31,661A small 17kb piece was sent at 14,071 per hourA larger 160kb piece was sent at 6347  per hourThis speed will vary a little depending on day of the week and time of day it's sending.Running Pro 3.04, using sendmail,  but no batch sending. MySQL for data.Still having the first one bog down.  It took well over 7 m ...Continue Reading

Dada sending rates

Hi everyone Noticed a recent few discussion about sending rates with Dada 3, and though I’d share our new server speeds – yes we’ve just bought a big server and dedicated it to just DaDa J - with  a Pro Dada 3.0.4 Stable Machine specifications: - Dedicated dual core machine with 2G RAM - a pair of 320G drives in RAID-1 - 3000GB/month bandwidth (we got this amazingly priced from our hosting partner KGBInternet in Canada – worth contacting them if you want similar!) DaDa sending settings: - Send with sendmail not ...Continue Reading

Clickthru tracking goes to Dada 'Sign up for a list' page

September 9th 2009 PDT

This is serious for me. Some Clickthrough redirect links in the emails are not being compiled correctly. I'm finding that some, not all of the links with the clickthrough tracking redirect hesitate when clicked for 5-10 secs after which the user is taken to a Dada "Sign up for a List" page instead of the link desired. When the link is first clicked, the browser address window shows the correct redirect link, after about a 5-10 sec delay, the link automatically changes, but to the wrong page. I ...Continue Reading

More info. Doing some digging after some complaints from users, I discovered that only a very few ciickthrough tracking links worked. Here's how one looks that didn't work before and after it was sent in a blast by dada The link before: ABAOC's "Grow & Thrive in a Difficult Economic Times" in Westminster on Thursday The link contained in the email that doesn't work right: http://www.meetingsandmixers.com/cgi-bin/dada/mail.cgi/r/MNM/550445739753/ Here's a sample of the Dada clickthrough log.
