Hello List,I would like to ask if anybody has successfully managed to handle email bounces in order to keep mailing list db's clean. It happens every now and then that some clients change emails without notifying, yet the db still keeps sending out emails to those domains which either dont exist any longer or to acounts which are disabled/overfilled/you name the issue of the day. I'd like to have something which simply removes bounced email recipients from the db.Has anybody done similar tasks on *nix platforms? if so, ...Continue Reading

I've just released a new version of Dada Mail 4.0.0 Beta 2 Here are the downloads: tar.gz http://github.com/justingit/dada-mail/tarball/v4_0_0_beta2-10_22_09 zip http://github.com/justingit/dada-mail/zipball/v4_0_0_beta2-10_22_09 This release is fixer-upper release from feedback I've been given from the 4.0.0 beta 1 release. Thanks everyone who gave that feedback! The release is getting very stable, documentation is getting in order and it looks like, once I get the manual updated, we can have an actual re ...Continue Reading

Tags shouldn't really be replaced in discussion lists, imho. It always leads to problems ;) > So that if you have URLs containing information such as the segment > of the database you are emailing, the redirect seems to include the > in the link _rather_ than substituting the values first, then > creating the redire ...Continue Reading

Ha! Of course the DaDa developers list _/is/_ powered by DaDa so replaced all the tags I was discussing with links etc. J I have used the | symbol instead of the [[ or ]] bracket symbol now so hopefully the mail now makes sense! - SNIP - Hi Justin and Developers An interesting conundrum. It appears that the redirect function (which uses the |redirect| tag) in DaDa is called before the replacement of subscriber information function (which uses tags like |subscriber. ...Continue Reading

Hi Justin and Developers An interesting conundrum. It appears that the xxx function in DaDa is called before the [subscriber.myfield] replacement so that if you have URLs containing information such as the segment of the database you are emailing, the redirect seems to include the [subscriber.myfield] in the link _/rather/_ than substituting the values first, then creating the redirect. Has anyone else seen this behaviour and/or worked a good work-around/fix for it? Many thanks Alex Post: mailto:[list_setting ...Continue Reading

Justin I have done some more research in the underlying code. The main problem that really throws Firefox is a missing end comment. The line is <!-- multiple list sending is not supported (apparently) Completing the comment clears the problem. I have traced this to line 78 in the "multiple_list_sending_widget.tmpl" file. I have corrected this in my installation and this change has now restored correct operation to the Attachments area as well as the display etc of ...Continue Reading
