Tags shouldn't really be replaced in discussion lists, imho. |redirect| tag versus |subscriber| fields tag replacement

October 9th 2009 PST

Ha! Of course the DaDa developers list _/is/_ powered by DaDa so replaced all the tags I was discussing with links etc. J I have used the | symbol instead of the [[ or ]] bracket symbol now so hopefully the mail now makes sense! -          SNIP - Hi Justin and Developers An interesting conundrum. It appears that the redirect function (which uses the |redirect| tag) in DaDa is called before the replacement of subscriber information function (which uses tags like |subscriber. ...Continue Reading

[redirect] versus subscriber fields

October 9th 2009 PST

Hi Justin and Developers An interesting conundrum. It appears that the xxx function in DaDa is called before the [subscriber.myfield] replacement so that if you have URLs containing information such as the segment of the database you are emailing, the redirect seems to include the [subscriber.myfield] in the  link _/rather/_ than substituting the values first, then creating the redirect. Has anyone else seen this behaviour and/or worked a good work-around/fix for it? Many thanks Alex Post: mailto:[list_setting ...Continue Reading

Re: Version 4 Beta - missing attachments mechanism

Justin I have done some more research in the underlying code. The main problem that really throws Firefox is a missing end comment. The line is         <!-- multiple list sending is not supported (apparently) Completing the comment clears the problem. I have traced this to line 78 in the "multiple_list_sending_widget.tmpl" file. I have corrected this in my installation and this change has now restored correct operation to the Attachments area as well as the display etc of ...Continue Reading

Thanks for making the screen shot. At least from what I'm seeing, it looks like the comment in the html is messing things up, perhaps? Here's what it looks like in the: dada/DADA/Template/templates/send_email_screen.tmpl file: Perhaps removing this comment will help? The HTML seemed to ...Continue Reading

Re: Version 4 Beta - missing attachments mechanism

JustinI am running FireFox 3.5.3 under windows xp pro.To show you in a bit more detail the problem at the bottom of the Send a Message page I have attached a screen-shot of the offending area for the attach files.Regarding the fckeditor area the HTML pane just goes grey with no sign of the interface.I am going to compare the resulting files a bit later to see any differences but I will have to change the beta 4 config.cgi file to do that.Clearly there is a problem with FireFox here - shame because I prefer it to the ot ...Continue Reading

Can anyone else see if they are also having trouble with these issues? (File Upload for attachments, FCKeditor)? ...Continue Reading

JustinOoops!I have been using Firefox do to all the work so far and have had no trouble with the previous version of Dada. And it is in Firefox that I cannot get these items to work with the Beta 4.I have now tried Opera, Google Chrome and IE8 and both the attachment mechanism and the fckeditor work very well in them.I will do some investigation to try and find out what is different between 3.n and beta 4 that is causing the problem in Firefox. Many thanks for your feedback.  Keep up the good work on this a brillia ...Continue Reading

> How can I track where it's timing out / figure out what's going on? Do you have Dada Mail's error log set up? ($PROGRAM_ERROR_LOG). That's a good place to start. If nothing is getting printed, try setting some of the CPAN trace variables: http://dadamailproject.com/support/documentation-dada-3_0_4/error_faq.pod.html#making_the_error_log_more_verbose___cpan_debug_settings_ If you're using the SQL backend, def. set the, "DBI" one - "1" should be enough - it's extremely verbose.
