If I may ... I have had a couple of clients complain that emails were not getting to the entire list. I tried to find the reason in the backend but could not. What I believe caused the problem was the length of time it took Dada to complete the sending task. My host (Hostmonster/Bluehost) only allows limited continuous access to the processor for one process. If something takes longer than that, the system kills it. In the case of Dada, I believe this caused Dada to force the mail into a stale state, which ...Continue Reading

Hey Everyone, Happy New Year! If I haven't yet said that, to this list - I want to start thinking about future developments of Dada Mail - where to take the program - the small features and the Big Features. As times and trends change, so does my development focus. Before I give you my laundry list of my own priorities, I sort of want to hear from everyone else first, since you guys are most likely more active in actually using the program than I am! Also, just to recap some things, ver. 4.0.2 was recently releas ...Continue Reading

JustinApologies - the lateness of the hour etc. and I sent the wrong one - I reset the variables back to the original text based file.I have changed the password (I forgot about that - I was going to change it anyway because it is not appropriate anyway). Please find attached the backup file that actually reflects what was there when the error occured. You will notice that I had already removed the vertical bars.Best regards--*/Martyn Davison/*> Date: Thu, 7 Jan 2010 22:06:23 -0500> From: justin@PROTECTED> ...Continue Reading

Could you please change your password? Since you just gave it to me in the file... > I have actually done just that and put the settings that you mention in the config.pm file (attached). Where? I'm having trouble seeing where you might have configured the SQL stuff. All I found was: $SUBSCRIBER_DB_TYPE ||= 'PlainText'; $ARCHIVE_DB_TYPE ||= 'Db'; $SETTINGS_DB_TYPE ||= 'Db'; $SESSION_DB_TYPE ||= 'Db'; $BOUNCE_SCORECARD_DB_TYPE ||= 'Db'; $CLICKTHROUGH_DB_TYPE ||= 'Db'; I ...Continue Reading

JustinMany thanks for the email.I am glad (sort of) that I am not the only one getting these errors.I have actually done just that and put the settings that you mention in the config.pm file (attached).Currently I am only running with the config.pm file as I have not yet sorted out the new features. When I get this phase working I may well go down the separate configuration file if only to have the luxury of not having to reconfigure every time.Best regards--*/Martyn/*> Date: Thu, 7 Jan 2010 14:26:18 -0500> ...Continue Reading

> I have got the mySQL database configured (after a load of error messages - perhaps because my database is mySQL 4.1.22 and not the latest one). I have followed the instructions in "configuration-sql_backend.html" given that I do not have access to cPanel and myPHP latest does not work because I have an earlier version on my host package - a version of myPHP is provided with a very useful interface to create the necessary tables. If you have problems on another install, check out this version of the sche ...Continue Reading

HiI have been using the 'basic' DADAMail for some time in one location but another application requires more complex subscribing using the SQL back end.I have got the mySQL database configured (after a load of error messages - perhaps because my database is mySQL 4.1.22 and not the latest one). I have followed the instructions in "configuration-sql_backend.html" given that I do not have access to cPanel and myPHP latest does not work because I have an earlier version on my host package - a version of myPHP is ...Continue Reading
