Test Message

February 9th 2011 PDT

This is a test message of the new Dada Bridge, with fancy new header stuff, that should work like any other discussion list. By default, messages will be routed to the list, but there should be an easy way to reply to just the original sender. Cross your fingers, here we go! ...Continue Reading

Dada Mail 4.4.0 alpha 1 (UNSTABLE) released

February 1st 2011 PDT

Hello Everyone, Dada Mail 4.4.0 alpha 1 has been released. It's (probably) a very unstable version, so don't use it for production work, but please, if you can, give it a test drive and let me know if you find any glaring problems. I'm hoping to actually release a stable version within the week, so there won't be any new features, just fixing the bugs I (or you) find. Request for Comments: Public vs. Private mailing lists

January 27th 2011 PDT

The next version of Dada Mail - be it v4.4.0 or 5.0.0 or whatever needs to address a major problem I'm currently facing: A lot of people want to use Dada Mail in a more private mailing list-type of way, where the list owner is in full control over the mailing list's subscribers and can mass-add them via the list control panel and, The idea that a legit public mailing list really needs to have all the subscribers be confirmed and verified via a closed-list opt-in system. I made this behavior the default (although ...Continue Reading

Amazon Simple Email Service Scripts 'n Stuff

January 26th 2011 PDT

This is sort of interesting: http://aws.amazon.com/ses/ Quote: Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) is a highly scalable and cost-effective bulk and transactional email-sending service for businesses and developers. Amazon SES eliminates the complexity and expense of building an in-house email solution or licensing, installing, and operating a third-party email service. The service integrates with other AWS services, making it easy to send emails from applications being hosted on services such as Amazon EC2. W ...Continue Reading

Sounds like a useful change to me - I'll do something similar for v4.4.0 for ya, (probably the same, just without the red). There will be a ton of changes to the templates in v4.4.0, so be ready to update any tweaks, when you do upgrade (everyone). I'll have mo ...Continue Reading

Displaying list shortname in default admin template heading

January 19th 2011 PDT

Thought I’d share this with everyone as it’s a nice addition for our team here who have lots of lists with the same name (normally the client name) but different shortnames (as these have to be unique in Dada). Basically the additional line in the default admin template displays the list shortname after the list name at the top of the admin screens so you can easily see which list you are in at a glance rather than needing to hit List Information of similar. To implement: Edit: /DADA/Template/templates/default_admin_te ...Continue Reading

Re: Upgrade from Standard to Pro

December 29th 2010 PDT

Sure is.  I just recommended that a client have Justin install it.  I could have billed him for it, but I'd have to spend more time on it so I'm saving the client money.  John Collins Rick Yager December 29, 2010 2:28 PM Hey Justin, If I purchase the Pro Dada subscription WITH the Installation, would that cover all of these conversion/upgrade issues? I'm thinking that it may be more economical to pay you guys $50 than ...Continue Reading
