Re: auto_pickup.pl

I'm having some issues with a new pro install of dada dropping mailings. I know the auto_pickup was replaced by the mailing monitor, which is installed correctly as far as I can tell. I have the cron job set up but the mailing was dropped and didn't restart until I hit the mailing monitor page, so I'm pretty sure something is wrong with the cron. I'm not getting emails from the cron job and I'm waiting on tech support to find out why. I even set up the cron on a separate (dedicated) server where all of my other Da ...Continue Reading

Dada Mail moving from Prototype/Scriptaculous to Jquery

September 10th 2012 UTC

Hello Everyone, I'm working on a branch of Dada Mail, where I'm porting all the Javascript effects/AJAX stuff from Prototype/Scriptaculous to jQuery, following the lead of most of the Free World. You can see the progress at: https://github.com/justingit/dada-mail/tree/prototype_to_jquery It's taking a bit longer than I anticipated - mostly because I'm not only doing a straight translation of the two libraries (both are fairly well designed), but because while I'm moving everything over, I'm also changing everyth ...Continue Reading

Re: Disable WYSIWYG editor after install?

September 8th 2012 UTC

"If you're a very experienced web designer, this will no doubt make you feel dirty, and make you want to take a shower immediately afterwards." Ha! That is exactly what I thought when I was reading the suggestion. I'm already using tables (thanks to Outlook completely breaking margins, padding, and float tags in css), so it would require nesting tables which I hate to do. I can keep doing the <div> tag with a background specified in the style if necessary. I've checked mailings in Yahoo mail and ne ...Continue Reading

Disable WYSIWYG editor after install?

September 8th 2012 UTC

Is there a way to disable the WYSIWYG editor after install? We have it in our installation but after saving the source code in a scheduled mailing, it strips out the <html> and <body> tags. This is a problem because often the mailings have styles in the body code that are critical to proper display of the mailing (like a background color other than white). Re: scheduled mailing from URL error

August 30th 2012 UTC

I just heard back from Host Gator tech support (which is incredibly awesome, BTW - they never tell me, "sorry, we don't support scripts running on your server") and they were able to fix the problem. It was a problem in .htaccess:"I've found the issue, mostly. The .htaccess file was modified yesterday. This is an extremely large htaccess file. Something in there is blocking our wget bot or requests without user-agents, as when I attempted to wget the page from my workstation and your server, I received a ...Continue Reading

Re: scheduled mailing from URL error

Is there a chance you can post the source of the HTML produced somewhere, before it gets to Dada Mail? Without that, it'll be hard to debug what's going on. Also, anything in the error log timestamped at the same time? ...Continue Reading
