I use amember for a membership site and they allow you to save all of the strings in the database. It's wonderful. There is a search form to search for the string you need to change (that is probably the biggest help, since searching for the right file to change the wording in Dada templates is a challenge - DW won't search in .tmpl files so it's just guesswork to open files and check for the string), then you just type your change into the box, click save, and it updates it, never to be overwritten by updates. > Justin, with your next update could you remove this comma from list_template.tmpl? Easiest thing to do, is to just edit that template directly, I don't know if saving strings of templates in a database really makes sense. If you'd want these changes to move over with an upgrade, just put the modified file in your .dada_files/.templates directory and that copy will be used, instead of the default template file. Template files do change on occasion, so I'd suggest doing a quick check if you do go from a major dot r ...Continue Reading

Justin, with your next update could you remove this comma from list_template.tmpl? <p> You are currently subscribed to, <!-- tmpl_var list_settings.list_name -->!</p>should be:<p> You are currently subscribed to <!-- tmpl_var list_settings.list_name -->!</p>____________Is there any way that the language for the template phrases could be edited from within the admin panel? Maybe strings could be stored in the database so when changes are made they won't be overwritten with the ne ...Continue Reading

They are imposing sending limits that won't work for the list so I've given up solving this problem. It's just not worth my time to get it working and have to deal with the limits.I'm going to move the install to my dedicated server where I don't have to follow their shared server rules. The site owner purchased Pro Dada when it was on sale for $50. I'd like to pay to have you install it and get it running properly on my server. I'm going to try to get the domain name & hosting set up within 2 days - are you availa ...Continue Reading

If you post the cron invocation maybe we can see what might go wrong. You can also run the curl command from the command line and check the output.Regards Frans2012/9/12 Mary Ann Kelley <maryann@PROTECTED> I'm having some issues with a new pro install of dada dropping mailings. I know the auto_pickup was replaced by the mailing monitor, which is installed correctly as far as I can tell. I'm having some issues with a new pro install of dada dropping mailings. I know the auto_pickup was replaced by the mailing monitor, which is installed correctly as far as I can tell. I have the cron job set up but the mailing was dropped and didn't restart until I hit the mailing monitor page, so I'm pretty sure something is wrong with the cron. I'm not getting emails from the cron job and I'm waiting on tech support to find out why. I even set up the cron on a separate (dedicated) server where all of my other Da ...Continue Reading

Hello Everyone, I'm working on a branch of Dada Mail, where I'm porting all the Javascript effects/AJAX stuff from Prototype/Scriptaculous to jQuery, following the lead of most of the Free World. You can see the progress at: https://github.com/justingit/dada-mail/tree/prototype_to_jquery It's taking a bit longer than I anticipated - mostly because I'm not only doing a straight translation of the two libraries (both are fairly well designed), but because while I'm moving everything over, I'm also changing everyth ...Continue Reading
