I've had similar problems -- the server would hiccup (usually on the mail server end) and the mailing would hang Trying to restart it by pausing then resuming didn't work -- there would be a server error message shown I dug into things on the server side via a terminal session and found out the problem was a permission problem When the folder with all the mailing details was created in the dada/ tmp directory, it was created by the root user with only root having read/write access My work-around has been to log in to the system as root, change the permissions on the folder to allow all to have read/write access, then go to the mailing screen I could then pause the mailing (which required some info to be written in the mailing folder) and then resume it to pick up where it stopped I haven't really dug any further to determine if this is a function of the program (root user creating the folder with limited access) or of how I have installed the program
As sort of an aside to Mary's problems (I'm talking to her, off list), whatever is set up to run Dada Mail as root is def something you don't want happening There's no known exploits in Dada Mail, but there's no reason to run DM as root, in case an exploit is found - you're local problem could potentially develop to be a entire server problem The web server shouldn't be executing DM as root - that would be crazy Is the cronjob being run as root?
