Re: restarting mailing?
My server went down in the middle of a mailing. Now that it's back up, the mailing is stuck. I've tried pausing it and restarting it but it's still stuck in the same place (it doesn't show that it needs to be picked up, but it's continually showing the same number on reload). Is there a way to force it to restart without killing it and starting from scratch again? I don't want duplicates to go out if at all possible.
I've had similar problems -- the server would hiccup (usually on the mail server end) and the mailing would hang. Trying to restart it by pausing then resuming didn't work -- there would be a server error message shown. I dug into things on the server side via a terminal session and found out the problem was a permission problem. When the folder with all the mailing details was created in the .dada/.tmp directory, it was created by the root user with only root having read/write access. My work-around has been to log in to the system as root, change the permissions on the folder to allow all to have read/write access, then go to the mailing screen. I could then pause the mailing (which required some info to be written in the mailing folder) and then resume it to pick up where it stopped. I haven't really dug any further to determine if this is a function of the program (root user creating the folder with limited access) or of how I have installed the program.
