It's more the interface, than the functionality, that I struggle with To change the size of a picture, you need to right-click and go to the properties and specify your best guess for a new width and height It doesn't maintain the aspect ratio when one dimension is changed If the image had handles in the corners, it would be much more intuitive

Hmm - when I place an image in the editor, I see those handles - they seem to work pretty well, quite responsive and the aspect ratio is kept This works on that demo, too:

Sometimes, after my text is all entered, it says I don't have permission to browse the server's images, or to upload new images, even though I am the administrator I get a "You don't have permissions to browse/upload " error I need to save the text, log out and re-login and try again (it might have something to do with sending a test message Before sending, it always seems to work, but after sending I seem to get the permission error, maybe?)

You may want to check out my whole post on integrating a alternative file manager called unimaginatively enough, FileManager, to use as an alternative to KCFinder, which is giving people like you these types of problems:

(look for: Feature: Core 5 FileManager Support)

Also, uploading a local picture requires first selecting it for upload to the server and then another selection from the server to insert it into the email A single insert of local files would be nice

CKeditor I think presently, and this version of TinyMCE allows you to just drag and drop an image into the rich text editor - Dada Mail handles turning this into a file, that's the correctly linked to So, that's pretty useful

I can see how browsing for files already up can also be useful I agree though - it can be pretty cumbersome I'm not sure if I'm up to writing my own File Manager, like CKeditor/FileManager

While I have your ear, when inserting a picture, there is a nice big "Browse Server" button that is easy to see if you are re-using a previously uploaded file, but to upload a new file, the "Upload" link is in a different place, much smaller, looks like regular text and it's generally hard to remember where it is If it has to be a two step process, then there should be equally obvious buttons for the two steps

I'm not sure where exactly you're looking at this I've got 3, now 4 rich text editors that are working w/Dada MAil and now two file managers ;)

I'm not sure you have any control over any of this I suspect it is the way the add-in works That's why I asked about the way Tiny MCE works

Pretty similar to how it works, now - the design is quite a bit nicer, I'll have to admit Their documentation is both dense and poorly written It's a little unclear how to do some basic things
