Yes, this has been an ongoing discussion, since there are a number of us who have "non-public" lists where unsubscribing isn't an option I don't have a good solution right now, but I'll ponder it and start the discussion on the boards

One option, to get the ball rolling (again), is to only allow suppression of the unsub link (or unsubscribing completely) IF the mailing list is set up to use a third party email sending service, like Amazon SES or MailGun (http://mailgun com)

Those two services have their own TOS which are def used to hold the senders accountable to who they send to If there's abuse of sending, they won't think twice in disabling your mail sending You can also argue your case to them - I'm not seeing it even coming to that sort of level if you're just running an internal, private mailing list

That also stops me from having to police things (which I'm not interested in doing) and keeps organizations, like Bluehost liking and recommending Dada Mail

These services are also not-free, but not ridiculously expensive, given much less incentive for someone to do something foolish, by accident They also have the advantage of probably offering better mail delivery than a shared mail server, on a cheap hosting account

Would something like that scenario: using a third party email service work as a compromise, for your personal position?

I'm letting this out now, but this ain't something that "free" Dada Mail is going to have Even with all these checks and balances, I'm going to get an extra load of SPAM complaints and confused users, that I'm going to have to deal with
