I just wanted to give everyone an update on the localization project:
Before I can even begin work on tweaking Dada Mail for working with the localization scheme, I have to get Dada Mail working with fancier encodings than Latin1
As you may have noticed, Dada Mail's unicode (UTF-8) support is a little cough spotty at best Things break If the message sends out fine, the archive doesn't look too nice (or vice-versa - oh! the agony!)
The process to get Dada Mail in shape in regards of this has been very, very, very hard
But! I'm just about to see the light on all this and have gained quite a foothold on this part of the project Yay!
The work is currently on this branch:
http://github
com/justingit/dada-mail/tree/charset_work
I'm actually going to add some tests and merge this with the main branch and pop out a new version of Dada Mail maybe Perhaps, before that, I'll release a dev copy
My fear is all this work is going to break previous installations - not something I want to do, but perhaps that's a little neurotic of me What is going to happen, is that previous data, things like list settings and list archives may not look correctly, when they once did This is going to be because of previous bugs and not because of bugs in the newer code And that's going to cause a lot - a whole lot of confusion
I'll let everyone know when there is something more tangible to try out (except for the github stuff)
