"Encode Message Header":

Non-ASCII characters in headers MUST be encoded as per IMHO, this should not be selectable by user!

http://tools ietf org/html/rfc2047

I agree that it should/must, but the reason why it's currently an
option that can be turned off is a little more complicated

Firstly, this is a new feature in Dada Mail - Dada Mail 3 doesn't even
attempt to encode the message headers This is because the problem was
only brought to my attention fairly recently and then it took a while
for me to figure out how to give Dada Mail the functionality to work,
and work well It has to have been over a year since I put the feature
and I've asked for feedback about it, but I'm not sure the amount of
feedback I've gotten is sufficient to say, with all certainty, that
the problem is completely resolved Yes, I do have automated tests
that double-check that this feature is working, but there's just so
much I can cover with the tests (and so many people also running the
tests on their setups)

The problem inevitably is, someone's going to complain that Dada Mail
now has a new bug, dealing with the header encoding stuff and if they
ask how to turn they off and I tell them, "you can't" They'll get
basically, bummed

So, far now, it's an option, that's enabled by default and, if it
causes problems, it can be turned off Keeping the original, if still
broken behavior as an option is sometimes a good idea
