Hurrah! Dada Mail 4 Beta 3 has been released! Here are the download
links:

zip: http://cloud github com/downloads/justingit/dada-mail/dada-4_0_0-beta_3 zip

You may also grab this directly from git:

git clone git://github
com/justingit/dada-mail
git

Some new-things-of-note for this release:

  • I ripped out the Text-to-HTML stuff in Dada Mail, which is used in a
whole lot of places and replaced it with something else The,
"something else" seems to be working really well This needs a
    confirmation from someone! :)

  • I re-designed the Sending Options, SMTP Options and Advanced Sending
Options screens to these three screens:

Sending Preferences http://dadamailproject com/features/4_0/images/sending_preferences jpg

Advanced Sending Preferences http://dadamailproject com/features/4_0/images/advanced_sending_preferences jpg

Mass Mailing Preferences http://dadamailproject com/features/4_0/images/mass_mailing_preferences jpg

The, "Sending Preferences" now allows you to set if you want to send
via sendmail or SMTP and allows you to test either methods, from that
screen No more additional, "SMTP Options" screen This makes
everything a lot clearer, since some options for SMTP take freakin'
three different screens to figure out what to do That was dumb

The Mass Mailing Preferences allows you to set the batch sending
stuff, the auto pickup stuff and Twitter stuff

The Advanced Sending Preferences is much the same as before, just
cleaned up

  • I've also changed the color scheme a bit - the top header was light
blue and is now light and bright, blue The buttons are a lot more
    brighter

Lots of little tweaks, everywhere

If you're running an older version of Dada 4, you'll have to do a full
upgrade - a lot of files were touched

Tell me how this is running for you all - if it's working out well,
I'll make an announcement on the announcement list and generally
cause a hullaballoo I'm currently just going through the manual and
updating/rewriting/adding, which is a good step to take, to make sure
things work as their written to do so, so the only changes I'm making
are small changes and fixes that reflect any problems I find Stable
release is imminent Hazzah!

If you know git, you can test this release, by following these commands:

git clone git://github com/justingit/dada-mail git cd dada prove -r

This will take several minutes to run, but will go through the entire
test suite - many thousands of tests, and make sure everything is
working, for you The SQL tests may fail, but you can either turn
those off or customize them to your specific environment by tweaking
the,

dada/t/__Test_Config_Vars
pm

file It's fairly self-explanitory, if you've used/configured Dada
Mail's SQL backend before If not, I'm happy to help

That's it Happy Halloween, everyone!
