Hi Justin (and everyone else)
We are hitting some problems with the SQL backend on the new Dada 3 that it is maxing out our max_user_connections setting in mySQL as it appears to spawn child processes that don't reuse the DB connection that is created
The error we are getting is
[Mon Jan 19 05:13:41 2009] [error] [client xx xx xx xx] Premature end of script headers: /somethihg/dada3/mail cgi [Mon Jan 19 05:14:21 2009] mail cgi: DBI->connect(dbname=our_name;host=localhost;port=3306) failed: User us@localhost has already more than 'max_user_connections' active connections at /DADA/App/DBIHandle pm line 131 can't connect to db: at /DADA/App/Guts pm line 625
I've had a read around the code in App/Guts pm at line 625 and there is some discussion in the comments about re-using the connection
Not being a massive Perl guru I wondered if this code actually works Justin and whether you had tried it?
As far as I can tell it will be to replace lines 602 to 645 with the code in the comments - however Justin could you advise???
Many thanks
Alex
