Hi Justin,

I have been trying for the last week to figure out why my lists keep restarting but have run out of ideas The errors txt file contains the following lines:

[Thu Oct 23 14:00:07 2008] mail cgi: Use of uninitialized value in string ne at /DADA/App/MassSend pm line 1286

[Thu Oct 23 14:00:28 2008] mail cgi: Use of uninitialized value in numeric ne (!=) at /DADA/App/MassSend pm line 369

The lines referenced are:

MassSend pm line 1286: if($DADA::Config::MAILOUT_AT_ONCE_LIMIT ne undef){ if(($num_total_mailouts - $paused_mailouts) >= $DADA::Config::MAILOUT_AT_ONCE_LIMIT){ $mailout_will_be_queued = 1; }

MassSend pm line 369: if($q->param('archive_no_send') != 1){ # send away $message_id = $mh->mass_send(%mailing); }else{

The Config pm file has $MAILOUT_AT_ONCE_LIMIT ||= 1; so it isn't undef Does this indicate anything to you?

Can you let me know what your hosting company is? Or, if you have a custom hosting setup, what the Operating System and Webserver are?

Why is it continually restarting? Have the 46 messages that were sent actually sent, or have there been 46 failures that just skipped to the next?

I don't know The last time I investigated something like this, I found out that the problem was with the person's sending options - basically, Dada Mail couldn't send anything and errored every time it tried - and that's why it kept restarting I opened up this bug:

To, hopefully, look at it further

Is this the same problem you're having? I don't know You may want to set up your error logs and see if anything interesting bubbles up to the surface on your next mailing I would even venture to suggest making a test list up and subscribing just a few of your own addresses on and see what happens,

Then when it returns to the monitoring page it says: "Mailing Automatically Restarting in: 57 seconds"

and then it counts down to 0 and then the process repeats and never gets anywhere It has only send 46 messages in 17 hours Occasionally I see the following message: Problems Restarting!: Cannot reload! Sending process is locked! Another process may be underway, or, the lock is stale If so, will remove the stale lock in: -6 seconds(Call status() to remove the stale lock at /DADA/ Mail/MailOut pm line 1395 restarting mailing There is no other mailing Why is it continually restarting?
