Strange Bouncing on the List

Hey everyone,

A few people have let me know they've been subscribed because of
bouncing messages, but everyone says that they couldn't possibly have
been bouncing messages - since they've been receiving them

And I'm scoobied as to why this is all happening, which isn't good :)

And this scenario is something I'm sure a lot of people go through,
while administrating a list, so we might as well figure out a good way
to deal with it

Since I'm sneaky, I thought, "Aha! I'll look at the logs and see if
they say something!"

So, I did and the bounce log is really generic, an entry from someone
who's bouncing looks like this:

[Tue Oct 7 00:00:03 2008] dadadev add_to_score 4 user@example com
Simplified-Message-Id: 20081006234502, Message-Id: <20081006234502 30916943@dadamailproject com > , Status: 5 x y, Guessed_MTA: Exim, std_reason: unknown,

Which tells me nothing!

And what I really want to see is the original bouncing message, just
to at least grok it, and well, I don't have it

So, the first change I may make is an easier way to save those messages

Does anyone else have any ideas? We can't be the only people who have
had subscribers unsubscribed because of bounced messages, and then,
have trouble as to what/why the bounces are happening,

Also, yesterday, I opened up about 5 extra bugs:

3 0 0 - DADA::App::POP3Tools lockpop3_check error https://sourceforge net/tracker/index php?func=detail&aid=2167322&group_id=13002&atid=113002

3 0 0 - POP-before-SMTP test never uses Mode or SSL prefs https://sourceforge net/tracker/index php?func=detail&aid=2167227&group_id=13002&atid=113002

3 0 0 - SMTP Options POP-before-SMTP Auth Mode option brokeb https://sourceforge net/tracker/index php?func=detail&aid=2167224&group_id=13002&atid=113002

https://sourceforge net/tracker/index php?func=detail&aid=2167176&group_id=13002&atid=113002 2167176 3 0 0 - SMTP Options POP-before-SMTP SSL option broken

3 0 0 - Limited Docs for DADA::MailingList::Settings https://sourceforge net/tracker/index php?func=detail&aid=2167007&group_id=13002&atid=113002

A lot of them deal with the, "POP-before-SMTP" authentication stuff
and testing it - anything that's a little advanced with setting that
customization up seems to give false positives Which stinks

There's also a problem with the semaphore file that keeps you from
clobbering the POP3 server and that last bug is about missing docs

Fun!

Never be timid about filing a bug report If, while using Dada you
come across something strange - file a bug It's not hard to remove
bogus ones, so the more the merrier,
