Re: help: critical error, my newsletter is now offline
When trying to send a web page as html, I am getting the following error:
Program Error (Server Error 500)
More information about this error may be available in the server error log and/or program error log.
Can't call method "replace" on an undefined value at DADA/perllib/MIME/Lite/HTML.pm line 475.
Nevermind, I was able to fix my problem--kinda. I was making some modifications to apache this weekend, and changed the Listen line in the httpd.conf for apache from *:80 to my specific ip address. Apparently HTTP::Request in the parse() subroutine in DADA/perllib/MIME/Lite/HTML.pm resolves to 127.0.0.1 when DADA is on the same server as the webserver, and because my Listen statement in httpd.conf points to a specific ip instead of *:80, I could no longer connect to my site locally!
The fix was to switch Listen back to *:80.
FYI, it's not just a problem with HTTP::Request. From a terminal, I tried a wget on my site (using the hostname) and got the dreaded "connection refused" response as well. So apparently it's a combination of apache settings and the way my hostname is being resolved on my server.
Hopefully this is useful to someone else who in the future might have this same problem.
