automating newsletter based on an event

Is there a way to have dada mail deliver a newsletter based on an event?  On my site (bargainjack.com), I have a newsletter that I deliver to my customers daily, and its content is populated by a special webpage on my server (in other words, I don't type the newsletter in by hand, but instead, I put in a URL for my content when filling out the Dada newsletter form).  This special URL usually updates at midnight, but sometimes might update the following morning--thus I can't use the timed delivery option for my newsletter.

What would be nice is a command-line method for sending the newsletter.  That way I could have a cron job that basically checks the state of the next day's updates, and based on some criteria, fires off the dada newsletter when it meets that criteria.

I'm trying to think of a good solution based on what I know about dada thus far, but I haven't had any luck.  Is there a simple way to do this?

One option I was considering was setting up a dada email alias, and then having my cron job send email to that email alias if it meets certain criteria, and that would be used to push the updated newsletter whenever its made available.  I'm assuming you can send HTML through the dada email interface and it will parse it the same way that it parses a URL that's passed via the web interface.  Is that correct?

Anyway, if anyone has a creative idea on how to do this, I'm all ears, otherwise I'll probably embark on my idea of automating by pushing the newsletter out via the email interface to dada.

Thanks!
-Dustin
