Hello everyone,
Just a head's up:
I'm going to be releasing a new version of Dada Mail on Monday -
hopefully
This is not going to be Dada Mail 2
11, but rather, 2
10
11 - this is
going to make things very confusing, but please bear with me :)
The 2
10
11 release will have everything that the 2
11 alphas had,
except that the new features, except the "auto pickup of dropped
mailings" feature will be labeled, "experimental"
This is partly
laziness - I don't really want to go through the program and rip out
everything new and just keep bug fixes - which there are few of
The,
"auto pickup of dropped mailings" feature started being coded in
August, so I'm pretty confident it's going to do something well
I'm not going to get much more feedback on the feature, anyways, so
out in the wild it goes!
I usually version releases incredibly conservatively, and this is no
exception - this is going to be a huge update
Here's just a list on
the top of my head of some of the changes:
This is a huge feature - I had to basically rip apart the way Dada
Mail was sending email before and replace it with something
completely new
It's been a problem since day one of the program and
hopefully, it finally has a solution
Not only that, but the solution
is documented for general users:
http://mojo
skazat
com/support/documentation/FAQ-
mailing_list_sending pod html
and nerds:
http://mojo
skazat
com/support/documentation/Mail_MailOut
pm
html
plus an extension script:

com/support/documentation/auto_pickup
pl
html
Other large features include:
I've also updated the FormMail
pl form handler script with Dada
Mail hooks:
http://mojo skazat com/support/documentation/Dada- ized_FormMail_README pod html
As well as added a new form handler, called TFmail:
http://mojo skazat com/support/documentation/Dada- ized_TFMail_README pod html
As for other plugins/extensions, there's a brand new plugin to allow
you to change your Dada Mail Root Password:
http://mojo
skazat
com/support/documentation/
change_root_password cgi html
I'll probably be releasing a new revision of the Magicbook, most
notably with a new version of the log_viewer
cgi plugin
The main
screen is now all AJAX'd out, so you can refresh/switch/purge logs
without having the entire screen refresh
There's also a new search!
tool in the log viewer, with a API you can use yourself:
http://mojo
skazat
com/support/documentation/App_LogSearch
pm
html
Most of the other plugins/extensions will get minor changes done to
them
Other than all that, there's some completely new documentation, like
the Cookbooks:
http://mojo
skazat
com/support/documentation/COOKBOOK-
subscriptions pod html
http://mojo
skazat
com/support/documentation/COOKBOOK-
list_settings pod html
And lastly, is the testing suite for Dada Mail, which is currently
hovering around 460 automated tests, that are run every time I
check out a copy of Dada Mail to test on
That takes a lot of the
guesswork on if the program is working the way it should and has
really helped tighten up the Dada Mail Perl code
So, I guess this is a heads-up and to get your mouth watering
If you
want to go through the docs I've linked to and let me know if
something doesn't makes sense before the release, I'd be more than
grateful
Cheers,
