I have to wait long time even for lists that are small (5000 address i e , note that we handle carefully all the anti-spam rules)

The, "Add" feature can be slow when submitting thousands of addresses
- but it does state that you want to chop up the list into sizes of
1,000

It's on my to-do to make this part of the program a little faster,
but there's a few hurtles I have to go through

One is the upload part of it - there's a few AJAX file uploaded
widget thingies that seem to get around timeouts from uploading large
files, but not many of them are written in Perl and the one that is,
doesn't have a compatible license with Dada Mail that I can use (it
uses the Mozilla License) So, it's something I may have to make myself

The other problem is that it just takes a long time to sort the email
addresses into ones that are valid, not subscribed, invalid,
subscribed, blacklisted, etc For the PlainText backend, I don't know
what kind of optimization I can do There's probably more room for
optimization on the SQL backend, but my SQL-foo currently isn't the
best - although I may get around to it soon Currently, there's at
least - at the very least, one SQL statement per email address you're
attempting to subscribe - if you have a list of 5,000, that's 5,000
SQL statements run - which isn't optimized at all I guess the answer
to query the SQL table to see if a list of email addresses are
subscribed to a list is something like:

SELECT email in subscribers where email = 'user1@example
com' or

'user2@example com';

And just keep "or"ing for thousands of addresses

So there's room for optimization

To help your problem right now, if you know the email list to be free
of problems and if you have the PlainText backend (which is the
default backend), just open up the subscription list and paste your
list directly into it - it should be in the directory you set the
$FILES variable to It's named:

listshortname
list

where, "listshortname" is your list's shortname

The format is one email address per line

Hope that helps;

As for a bug, if you can get the error that's reported in the error
log, that would help

For any and all bug reports, even if you're unsure if it's really a
bug, please submit them here:

And I won't forget about it ;)
