Re: Idea: Take out the Config.pm embedded documentation

I'm totally for *keeping* the pod in... everything Andreas Grau said in his first post makes sense to me... even when you may be too lazy to learn to write pod, learning to read it is quite simple... if you use a perl-aware editor, it will even colorize it as comments.

Lynton's idea would be very annoying for those of us using simple text editors to modify Config.pm... if you're editing it remotely, you might have a hard time following a hyperlink in a text-only environment...

I don't mind having 2 or 3 Config-xxx.pm templates and choosing from them, but you (Justin) will have to keep them quite in-sync... probably with only one source generating all templates like:

Config-source.pm

might have pod *and* simple comments embedded (maybe with a small mark to ease the task of generating the other ones), and then a script would generate:

Config-pod.pm
Config-comments.pm
Config-linked.pm

and you would include instructions to choose one of these files and rename it as Config.pm before configuring it.

Just my 2c.
