A reply should be directed back to the forum and only the forum aka mailing list unless the originator requests otherwise

OK, but the problem right now in a Dada Mail list, like this one, if you hit, "reply", the message is addressed to the list If you hit, "reply all", the message is addressed to the list, not the list and the original poster This is what seems to be broken in Dada Mail

Not broken here, Justin ! My Sylpheed email client has to offer: - Reply - Reply to All - Reply to Sender - Reply to Mailing List

'Reply to All' addresses the message to the list and puts the sender on CC:, which seems fine to me Do we need to take e-mail clients into account when looking at that ?

A

I would have thought that was a given I work on both Windows and FreeBSD OS's On my Windows box, I have Becky Internet Mail installed The reply options include:

1) Reply 2) Reply to All 3) Reply to selected addresses

Using the third option, I can pick and choose who I want to reply to and on what address line; i e , To:, CC BCC The first option works fine since I am in most cases simply replying back to the forum

I usually use KMail on my FBSD box, and have comparative options available there also I have not experienced any of the phantom problems that others seem to have invoked when replying to a list message

I honestly think that Justin is over thinking this entire thing, but that is just my thoughts on the subject
