Auto Pickup Mailing Feature

I'm tinkering with making mailouts support a sort of, "auto pickup"
feature Here's the problem:

Mailouts to a list sometimes get stopped - there's many reasons:

Server Killed the process Some random error in the program

Dada Mail can't auto pickup a failed mailing, because it has no
metadata about the mailing - not even a copy of the message is saved
internally, which is sort of dumb Currently, you can only send a new
message at a specific point in your mailing list, which is less than
optimal

Changing the sending process so as to keep this metadata would allow
auto pickup to be a reality and also allow you to get a status on how
your mailing is going - for example, where in the list has your
mailing reached? How long has the mailing taken? Things like that It
could also let you do a few neat things, like pause a mailing, kill a
mailing, etc

This feature would make Dada Mail even more appealing to shared
hosting-type accounts, since going over resources won't cause the
mailout to be unsuccessful

If anyone has experience with other programs that have similar
features and would like to chime in, or have any comments about the
above idea, let me know,
