I'll be highlighting things that should be checked out:

:: I added greatly to the FAQ:

Again, if anything needs to be added to, now's the time

Some new docs:

:: List of all (And I'm pretty sure it's complete) non standard CPAN
modules required for Dada Mail, including all (again, I think it's
complete) optional modules:

:: dada_bridge pl

*Considerable* work was put into dada_bridge
pl, including the

docs If you didn't know, we're running the discussion list off of
dada_bridge pl, so to give you an idea of what it can do - /it's
doing this!/

:: Other Changes:

I've set up a list purely for releases - I'll post about all dada
mail-related releases, since the main announce list usually only gets
announced, "official" releases

 http://mojo
skazat
com/cgi-bin/dada/mail
cgi/list/dadareleases/

:: Magicbook:

There's going to be a new revision of the Magicbook - none of the
text has been worked on (time constraint), but many of the scripts
have been updated - I'm not absolutely done, but a small list of
changes:

  • clickthrough_tracking cgi

clickthrough_tracking cgi gives you the ability to track:

     * How many times certain urls are clicked on in your list

messages * How many times a message is opened * How many subscribers are present every time a message is sent * "Hard" email Bounces

the prev version only did the first point in this list Major
improvement with some often asked for features The docs for this
plugin are at:

 http://mojo
skazat
com/support/documentation_2_10/

clickthrough_tracking cgi html

I wrote much about some of the ethical issues raised when working
with this type of information, because I do feel it's important I
don't want to be DoubleClick, or gasp ediaplexMeh owKnew atway Iey
enayay?

  • dada_digest pl

Should actually ship with this version - no feature enhancements,
strictly a port from 2 8 x API to the 2 10 API I'd like to rewrite
this functionality one day It's a little clunky, but I guess it
gets the job done

  • scheduled_mailings pl

Another port from the mostly 2 8 x API to the new 2 10 API - most
notably, this means that templates are applied correctly, which is a
really good thing, since they were being applied like no other part
of the program and kind of wrong in 2 9

I don't have docs up, so there's something to work on (Justin!)

  • multiple_subscribe cgi

Has been mostly rewritten - you can now unsubscribe from multiple
lists! and the new style path-info'd url's should be in affect

If anyone would like to try out these scripts with the new RC, just
email me personally and I'll get them out to you to try - they will
only work with 2 10, and please only try them with RC1 Please If
you have any q's, feel free to post them to this list

------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I think that's all I have to say I've been extremely busy pulling
the late hours to bring you this release, since I believe in a whole
slew of things:

  • Dada Mail - it got me through college and thousands of people are
    counting on it too

  • Dada Mail's Community - this release, as was true with 2 9, had the
most input from the community to date - and this is really exciting
This is the first release where someone instead of me has committed
more than 100 commits (the last record was, 1), so thanks Shane
especially for all his input - it all looks great and your work
    really does shine!

  • The Independent Author/Publisher/Mad Scientist

Nothing and I mean nothing happens in a vacuum - everything is a
collaboration, but I do believe that working for yourself like I have
and being able to give, say 99% of what you do for free can work, is
a viable option to those who don't want to or can't work in a large
business type situation or, like me, reject the idea outright for a
higher philosophical reason It's an option - it doesn't work for everyone and I don't think it should/could

  • and of course, Every Girl That Puts Up With Me

And my late hours and all sorts of things I'm difficult :) Thanks,
Sandy

So, I've said my piece - we're almost finished with a very long
process, thanks y'all for joinin' in, however much or whichever way
you have If there's something else that you all would like to do,
feel free to let me know, this project is as much yours as it is mine,

Justin Simoni
