Hereby some suggestions/improvements for Dada (next release ?):

  1. At the bottom of the screen 'Manage Copy | Email Messages' there is a table to explain the available tags The following tags are not listed, but they can be very usefull:

    plain_list_confirm_subscribe_link => The subscribe instantly link plain_list_confirm_unsubscribe_link => The unsubscribe instantly link

At Dada's forum, people have been asking for these tags a few times I use them myselves too So I have added them to "edit_type_screen tmpl"

 <tr>
  <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF">
   <p>
    http://mojo
skazat
com/cgi-bin/dada/mail
cgi/n/[list]/[email_name]/[email_domain]/1234/
   </p>
  </td>
  <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF">
   <p>
     The subscribe instantly link
   </p>
  </td>
 </tr>

 <tr>
  <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF">
   <p>
    http://mojo
skazat
com/cgi-bin/dada/mail
cgi/u/[list]/[email_name]/[email_domain]/1234/
   </p>
  </td>
  <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF">
   <p>
     The unsubscribe instantly link
   </p>
  </td>
 </tr>

2 Since we have a 'list switch' button at the left upper corner, the link "Sign In to Another List" seems to be superfluous I would prefer to change this link to 'Administration' e g in case we want to create a new list So I changed the following lines in Config pm:

{-Title => 'Sign In to Another List', -Title_URL => "$S_PROGRAM_URL?flavor=sign_in", -Function => 'sign_in', -Activated => 1, },

into:

{-Title => 'Administration', -Title_URL => "$S_PROGRAM_URL?flavor=admin", -Function => 'admin', -Activated => 1, },

3 Talking about the 'list switch' button at the left upper corner: since I am a bit lazy, I would prefer switching instantly when selecting another list, and not having to press the switch button afterwards (yes, really lazy, isn't it?) To accomplish this, I modified calling the popup_menu() from sub "login_switch_widget", see file "Widgets pm" as follows:

  $q->popup_menu(-style   => 'width:75px',
     -name    => 'change_to_list',
     -value   => [@lists],
     -default => $args{-list},
     -labels  => {%label},
     -onchange => "submit();", # extra line added here!
     )

and get rid of the switch button by completely removing (or commented out) the following line:

$q->submit(-value => 'switch', -class=>'plain')

and finaly changed: $label{$args{-list}} = '----------'; into: $label{$args{-list}} = '--- switch llist ---';

Now the list changes automatically, cool!

  1. When a list is configured as 'discussion list' and option 'Batch Confirmations' or 'Finishing Messages' is enabled, these notification messages are send to subscribers as well That's not what we want, isn't it? Of course this is the responsibility of the list owner in the first place, but you may easily forget to switch off these options after changing a normal list into a discussion list Therefore these notification messages should be blocked when the list is a group list Ofcourse, the options in the admin screen must be accompanied by a text like "Note: disabled for discussion lists"

What do you think about these changes? Your comments are welcome
