Re: Tentative Roadmap for Dada Mail

[P S - Out of curiosity, why four different "guesses"? Is this a
legacy thing, something I'd understand if I knew the first thing about
Perl :-), or something else altogether? No urgency in replying here --
like I said, I'm just curious ]

Well, 2 of the places it looks are "best guesses" onto where the
directory that holds the templates is, since it's not hard-coded in
the config file and for some inane reason, the techniques are
different, depending on the type of environment (OS, server setup)
Dada Mail runs in A lot of best practice techniques in program
just don't work when you start actually using them in the wild, so
you have to make kludges to make it work like it should It's annoying

The other is the main $TEMPLATES file - where the list templates are
- you can actually stick a custom version of any of the templates
that are the dada/DADA/Template/templates directory and expect that
to work - it's not really documented, but is a feature There's also
a bunch of random "shot in the dark" guesses, just to cover all the
bases - this is done because if the templates aren't found, the
program doesn't work As a last grasp, there's actually a variable in
the Config pm, called, $ALTERNATIVE_HTML_TEMPLATE_PATH where you can
explicitly set the path to where the template files are

So, Actually, it's 7 places at the moment :) ALthough I doubt Dada
Mail looks past the first best guess

Yup, makes sense I was mainly just thinking out loud, now that the
roadmap has offered me a way to work from the general to the specific,
rather than the other way around Did I already mention how much I like the
roadmap? :-)

That's cool, I'll make sure to keep it updated The problem I've
always had is that I never hit an ETA that I place, so the roadmap is
going to be lacking those :)

And as for getting a new release out ASAP: I'm not in the middle of
anything right now that can't wait 'til after the alpha So basically, I'm
ready whenever you are

Alright, I'll be chatty on what I'm going to be doing to the code -
I'm waiting on a client to checkoff a project before I can release an
alpha -
