Re: spelling conventions: opinions welcomed!
Following is a list of alternate spellings The italicized ones are
"correct" according to Wikipedia &/or Wiktionary Unless there's
disagreement or discussion to be had, I'll be using the first
(bolded) one in each list so if you dislike any of those, now's
the time to say so!
(I'll cast my votes on things I feel strongly on)
??? shortname, short name
I think it's used widely in Dada Mail as, "shortname", but short
name, or even Short Name is probably better
"shortname" itself is
sort of an example of itself (there's a fancy word for this which I
cannot remember
) - lowercase, less than 16 letters, simple :)
Mac
OS X also has a, "Short Name" (spelled out that way) - which is
actually the Unix username
