OK, I won't say I'm done adding stuff (anymore), but I'm getting close

Along with the other scheduled mailings features, add:

  • Test Mode! Send a scheduled mass mailing, but only to test recipients. Should help to suss out if these are working. I feel not many people use this feature, as they feel anxious about it.

Adding to this some more, concerning scheduled mailings:

• There will be an option to send an email notification out to the list owner for both success and failures of sending a scheduled mailing out. (Sometimes things happen).OK, I think I'm done with working on things for this new release, I'll be putting this through its paces for a little while before releasing,

A few more things I've been working on:

• The installer now pre-runs the tests to see if things like your SQL connection, Bounce Handler login, SES credentials are working, so that when you're upgrading, you don't have to do this yourself. I know this saves me a few button clicks.

• You'll now be able to choose if you'd like to see message previews of mass mailings in either the modal window (that's how things work now) or in a new window. Sometimes it's nice to get it out in a new window, to see what it'll look like in various screen sizes.

• the, "Control Panel Settings: Options" screen has been removed. it only held one thing: the option to set which WYSIWYG editor to use. That's just been moved into, "Mass Mailing: Options"

• Settings in, "Mailing List: List Information" that have something to do with a URL, like, "Website URL" now do a check, to make sure that the URL is accessible - which should hopefully help with mistyping them into those text boxes.

• The "StopForumSpan" option was broken, and is now fixed - but needs a dependency I'm not going to/can't ship with Dada Mail, so it'll be disabled by default.

• You can now send a followup email to the list owner giving them the rundown of email analytics (opens, clickthroughs, etc) and a link to view these things in your web browser. This will be sent 2-3 days after a mass mailing has been sent. This can be disabled obviously.

Hello everyone,

A few new features will be found in the next version of Dada Mail concerning discussion lists, both dealing with moderating.

The first is being able to set exactly what addresses should need to be moderated, rather than, "everyone" or, "everyone, except these people".

Similar to this, you can set to only moderate subscribers who have only been members for a short period of time, like a day or a week, or a month. That should stop abuse from members who have just signed on.

Also, I've added the ability to auto-reject messages that have been in the moderation queue for a while - say 1, 3, or 7 days. This should help keep that moderation queue nice and clean, and avoid having to manually delete old cruft.

Finally, I'll be adding the ability to auto-remove archived messages that are older than, "x" years. Old archives messages do have the tendency to potentially bloat the backend database, causing slowdowns. Discussion lists tend to be long-lived and high on the number of messages sent when compared to announce-only lists.

Look for these in v11.12.0

Cheers,
