Do you anticipate making anonymized clickthrough tracking available, or at a minimum open rates? I use those extensively in every mailing.

Well right now, you could track clickthrough, and open rates, without recording the email addresses that did those things. Would that be enough? I would have to do some research on how one would track and record anonymous-yet-tied-to-an-address info. I don't think there's a way, as whatever you use to anonymize an address could be used to reveal the address later.

If what you want is a way to export data that's been anonymized from your analytics to a third party, that's a lot easier to implement.

Additionally, I wasn’t sure if you’d seen this but it is relevant to any changes you might make. It is the ICO directive on records of consent that should be kept under GDPR: https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/guide-to-the-general-data-protection-regulation-gdpr/consent/how-should-we-obtain-record-and-manage-consent/

An awesome resource. Thanks, Mary. A BIG hurtle to get this working for users of Dada Mail is just the education part of it. What can, and can't you do.

I'll have something to show, and hopefully share in the coming days. Making good progress! If you want to peak behind the covers:

  • Bug/Error reports
  • Bug fixes
  • Request For Comments on any changes to the program
  • Help customizing Dada Mail for your own internal needs
  • Patches
  • Language Translations
  • Support Documentation/Doc editing, FAQ's, etc.
  • Discussion of any changes that you would like to be committed to the next version of Dada Mail -

At the moment, there aren't many people with CVS access for Dada Mail - if you would like CVS access, please first talk about the changes you propose and how it will affect the program. If the idea is sound and agreed upon, the change will be comitted. A good track record of this will allow you to have CVS access. Some reasons that patches will not be accepted is if the patch breaks compatibility with a previous version of the program, the patch is too centric to your own problem or the patch simply isn't very good.

Another sneaky reason for this mailing list is to test out the discussion list capabilities of Dada Mail, since Dada Mail is used for the mailing list itself.

NOTE - because of this, there may be times that this list will be somewhat broken. Although we're not planning on breaking the program by using it, we're giving you the heads up that this may well happen anyways.
