The burden of this (as the developer) is probably these two features:
- the right to be forgotten
- the request for data

Neither of those two requirements seems too difficult to figure out how to make available - Dada Mail already has a lot of reporting tools, so it just needs to all be made in some sort of cumulative report
This would be helpful Obviously log entries are already pretty easy to generate, but clickthrough and opens - not so much right now Having a place where it could all be done together would be great
And the right to be forgotten means you just need to replace the user's data with dummy data - so a few search/replaces + queries in the DB + logs, I guess
Is there any possibility of integrating a tool inside of the dashboard that would do this with one click?
Would IP addresses also be able to be scrubbed? I am unclear on whether they would be considered personal information when they are separated from other personal information if just the names and email addresses were removed (see: https://www whitecase com/publications/alert/court-confirms-ip-addresses-are-personal-data-some-cases ) but it seems like they might also need to be removed
I'm certainly a proponent of both of these features and in privacy online in general
They are going to be excellent protection for consumers/individuals It would be nice to have the protections for individuals living here in the US, especially since US-based companies are having to comply with the regulations anyway
All this certainly could be done with the current version - albeit awkwardly, by someone competent, but could also be a part of the app I probably won't be releasing a guide on how to do the former ('cause I have 18 years of versions to retro this for? Haha: no ), but could build it in for the latter
It would be nice to have the ability to export and scrub data for an individual in an upcoming release
Thankfully, Dada Mail is at its core a pretty simple app A lot of people don't use it for businesses, so I guess I won't have a mass upgrade mania come May! :p The number of users in the EU or doing business with citizens in an EU country are probably very great - I'm somewhat amazed you're literally the first person to ever ask about it (So, thank you)
I’m shocked at how little I’m hearing about it among the (mostly US-based) bloggers in my online circles
I'll be sure that it's something I will notify users of Dada Mail about, and have something available at least by the deadline
Thank you!
Warm regards,
Mary Ann
