Password Protect Directories not updating .htpasswd file

Is anyone else using the Password Protect Directories plugin? I upgraded to the most recent version of Dada on one of my installs this week and am having trouble with the Password Protect Directories plugin.

The script doesn't appear to be updating the .htpasswd file when email addresses are subscribed or unsubscribed. Deleting and readding the protected directory in the plugin got it to update once, but not on an ongoing basis. Should this plugin have a separate cron job? I removed all of the old cron jobs when I added the new universal cron job for Dada 9.

I’ve looked through the documentation and nothing jumps out at me, and I put in a support request through zendesk for Justin, but since this is live on my production site, I am hoping to get the issue solved quickly. I'm having customer service issues with new subscribers not being able to login.

Thanks in advance for any insight anyone might have.

Warm regards,

Mary Ann
