I had actually modeled it after Drupal The profile was being crated with a random password and added to the profile log-in page something to the tune of "If you haven’t logged in before, click here to set your password " And the reset password process would begin
The impetus for this came up when we migrated from phplist to your app A few of the docs had tried to log in to update their info and were getting frustrated when they couldn’t And my partner started asking what was going on

Profiles are not made, if you subscribe a subscriber, via the List Control Panel - there's no password associated with the Profile, so even if it was there, it'd be a little useless
