Re: Issue with special characters in templates

Are you creating your templates in Dada or are you pasting them in from a Word Doc? If from Word, be aware that MS has its own way of handling chars like curly quotes, curly single quotes and many others. (a left double curly quote in MS speak is chr(147) and as an html entity is “ I had to write a php script to convert them on my web site)

It's a PITA and hard to work around. On my calendar website users enter their own events and often paste in the title and some other form items so I've had to convert them all to html entities to store them in the database and then restore them to UTF-8 when displayed online.

I'd suggest you type the info directly into the templates and not paste it in if that's what you're doing. If not, then I dunno.

Issue with special characters in templates I am trying to edit the mail templates and for some reason all quotes, commas etc are getting converted to funny characters like ‘’. This is really annoying me and I am worried this will make my client look unprofessional. Is there a way to avoid this? Thanks in advance.
