Does Dada use IMAP to check the emails that are sent to the list address for Bridge? I'm having trouble with the server shutting down a script that is running on IMAP and it cuts off my db connections (which obviously affects Dada) and I can't figure out what is going on. Here is what they said:
If the mailing list is using IMAP connections, then these processes can stay open far longer than they really need to. As you are on a shared server environment, you are limited to only 25 concurrent processes. Persistent IMAP processes can keep a connection open for a considerable time, reducing the amount of processes available for other uses.
If you have used up your 25 process count, subsequent processes will not complete, and any process that needs to call a database may return the database errors you had experienced.
When Dada checks the list address for mail, it's using POP, isn't it? Dada is the only script running on the server. I'm forwarding them the error messages I'm getting from the cron jobs so they can compare the timestamps to the server logs, but I'm at a loss as to what it could be from.
Warm regards,
Mary Ann
