RE: bridge plugin

Thanks, Dave. I didn't get an answer so I appreciate this. Since the plugin  is working, I thought I had done everything I needed to in order to activate it. That's why I don't understand why it isn't showing up in the menu as an active plugin.

I'm using a local config file instead of config.pm, so what would I need to do to add it to the admin menu using that file? Here are the two places it mentions the plugin (everything is listed as undef as it is for all of the plugins):

  Dada_Bridge => {

        Plugin_URL                          => undef,

                                Plugin_Name                         => undef,

        Allow_Manual_Run                    => undef,

        Manual_Run_Passcode                 => undef,

        MessagesAtOnce                      => undef,

        Max_Size_Of_Any_Message             => undef,

        Allow_Open_Discussion_List          => undef,

        Room_For_One_More_Check             => undef,

                                Enable_POP3_File_Locking            => undef,

                                Check_List_Owner_Return_Path_Header => undef,

                                Check_Multiple_Return_Path_Headers  => undef,

    },

And (I uncommented these lines):

                                                                                {-Title      => 'Discussion Lists',

                                                                                -Title_URL  => $PLUGIN_URL."/dada_bridge.pl",

                                                                                -Function   => 'dada_bridge',

                                                                                -Activated  => 1,

                                                                                },

I'm stumped as to what else to do.

One more question - I have an announce only list that I want to allow authorized senders to use, but I want it to append the list name to the subject line of every mailing. The only way I have found to do that is to enable the discussion list and check "Append message subjects with the". Unfortunately, that means that  messages from unauthorized senders are sent to the moderation queue instead of being rejected. Is there a way to append the subject line with the list name without enabling the discussion list option and still allow authorized senders to send to the list?

Warm regards,

Mary Ann

Did you get an answer?  You’ll need to “activate” the plugin in the DADA/Config.pm file or add it to the admin menu in your local config file.

·         Remove the comments (#) from lines 2256 to 2260 in the Config.pm file

·         Change the file permissions on plugins/dada_bridge.pl to 755

·         FWIW, Dada Bridge settings  are in the Config.pm file around line #4644

At that point it should appear in the menu (removed the comments) and be runnable (chmod 755)

I installed Dada on the site of a non-profit I am helping and installed the bridge plugin. I have it working, but for some reason it isn't listed under plugins. Any idea why that might be? I am having to manually type in the URL of the plugin in order to change options.
